Just like the rest of America, I grew up with this show so you can only image the excitement when I heard they were coming back. Tonight's premiere lived up to the hype. Though hesitant about the new events, the competition proved to be just as good and the contestants in the first round made it even more exciting. I could not help but be proud of my people, as Venus and Mulli won. If the two of them make it to the Championship round, I may have to name my first born after them. (Do not hold your breath, little Venus will not make it past the next round, and spider monkey...well, just promise not to make fun of my child if his name is Mullivan.)
Watching the two hour episode brought back memories of the 90's when Ice and Zap were my favorite female Gladiators, and Nitro was my favorite male Gladiator. I am not sure these new Gladiators will win me over quite like the old ones did.
